Ed at Crosstrax has been directing the building of the skills spot in Buck Woods / Thackley this week.

There's a general shout out for anyone to come along and help out on the aforementioned days. Work could be a bit of anything. There are a few tools kicking around but best to take your own (spades, rakes, barrows etc).

It's a bit of a herculean effort on a shoestring (£10K) budget and hampered by some pretty poor weather. All help gratefully appreciated and anyone with a bit of experience. Some random photos to follow.

You can find the spot here:

Think so. Ed (Crosstrax) is co-ordinating it. IMO they'll getas close as possible to finished with the materials and achines they've had theis week / weekend and then need volunteers and work as necessary. Put it another way, I doubt it's finished yet

There was to be space (and a drain) for a PT as well. I've volunteered for that and will need more peeps to make it happen. However, in the first instance it seemed best to concentrate on getting the first loop of the main track in.

Went up last night for the grant tour with Ed and things are moving on surface will need a lot of compacting and some fines adding but it should be a fun little play area.

Nice area has been left for the PT and lots of stone has been left for the drainage etc.

They seam to be going up most evenings at the moment and have things planned at weekends including adding a skinnys section
