Yes, 10am (or earlier if you fancy, but I most probaby won't be) main car park (Norwood Edge one).

Will be working on the DL Extension. More rocking and a bit of digging I expect.

Boots, gloves, bait and tools all worth bringing.

Yes, there'll be plenty of spare tools.

If you put out a shout there maybe someone who can give you a lift.

There is a very real chance that we'll be holding this dig day at Buck Wood in Thackley instead of Stainburn. This project needs some urgent help and so, having canvassed a few folks, there's been an executive decision  It's not 100% confirmed so please keep an eye on this thread and I'll say once and for all tomorrow.

You can find some details and photos (from earlier on in the works) in this thread: http://singletraction.frankencrank.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2798

The usual dig day stuff is needed but particularly picks, spades, rakes, tampers and barrows.

There'll also be a need for those of us who've got more experience to help the less so to build the stuff so it works and lasts. If anyone's got any questions please post here, email me, PM or call.

Will anyone be able to pick up the barrows from Stainburn I think will come in very handy.

I know the landscaper Matt from school, he's mentioned it needs a little help. It's quite a distance from me but I'll see what I can do.

Having been up with Knacker and Ell last night I confirm we're now doing this dig day at Buck Woods in Thackley. The spot and parking (on road side) is just here:

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=417570&y=438949&z=120&sv=417570,438949&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=716&ax=417570&ay=438949&lm=0

You can't really miss the spot from the road (just after the cricket ground on the left and just before the footie ground on your right). There's signs for a stables up there as well. You will see a green shipping container on the LHS of the road and immediately after it a low steel gate (green) with a bike gate / A frame next to it. Walk through this and the skills spots is about 50 m staraight ahead. You can't miss it

If you get stuck give me a call on 07766 504913.

Usual kick off from 10 am (although there will probably be people there earlier). Tools needed are just about everything and spares if you have them. I suggest you tag anything you bring to avoid it getting inadvertently misplaced amongst others. The work will mostly be digging and shaping (hopefully with some mechanical support) so shovels, mattocks, spades, tampers and rakes area all good. Barrows and buckets always good too.

For anyone keen to take a look the spot is accessible to the public 24/7 so just swing by. Ed from Crosstrax plus others will be up there with bikes, tools and beer on Friday night from about 6:30 / 7:00 and anyone interested is welcome to swing by then as well.

There are likely to be digging and shaping sessions afterwards as well, probably weekday evenings.

Any questions post up.

Cheers

Edit: It's not an FE site so there's no need for folks to be STA members. This is a "anyone who's keen just rock up" type of project.

Edite, edit: The other thread with some pics is here:

The pics aren't great and things have moved on since they were taken.

Better to come and see it in the flesh 8)

If anyone wants a lift to Thackley this evening from along the A65/Apperley Bridge way send us a PM.

From experience I'd say that's not entirely true............hangover+digday+more beer=worse hangover
At this point Tim offered me some port (it was Xmas :? ) that he happened to have in his rucksack, I declined the offer.

What a great day at Thackley. Seemed to get plenty done and the weather was kind to us.
Tim, cheers for letting me have a go on the Holeshot those 1st two tabletops were sweet, I can see myself spending many a summer evening up at Thackley improving my technique on jumps and drops.

The first tabletop and the smallest of the three next set are OK to ride but the rest need time to bed in.

A massive, massive thanks to everyone that came today. You worked like dogs and we got a huge amount done. For those of you that left early and didn't get to try your handy work the stuff rocks, really sweet riding indeed 8)

I think the most we had throughout the day was 12 but even so the progress was (in my eyes) phenomenal.

I'm in the middle of a mammoth upload session of the 70 odd pictures on my camera. I expect an irate call from Boydie any moment saying I'm breaking the system or something

Keep your eyes peeled for updates on the forum and news of the next digs. There should be at least one evening next week and *maybe* another weekend session. Pretty soon there should be a project section dedicated to the site on this forum and hopefully a project section so people can get the low down on it.

It just struck me that I haven't also said thanks to the 10 of us that were out in the pooring rain on Friday evening as well.

Kudos 8) (and sorry for not saying so in the first place )

Right, I'm crackered but this should take you to the pics. Starts off with digging, ends with some riding. Forgive the humour / comments

I've moved the topic out of Stainburn and in to the new Buck Woods section as it is more relevant and gives this section some useful information on the project.
