Back to Stainburn to complete the descent line extension and make some repairs to the lower section of the climb.

Officially we will start at 10am but a few keen people including myself will be on site from around 9am for anyone who turns out a little later you will find us at the bottom of the hill in the clear felled area of the boulder trail.

We have most of the tools required but a spade is always handy and after recent events if you have a wheelbarrow I'm sure it will come in handy. Don't forget some gloves decent footwear and most important some food and drink.

Remember we are all volunteers and we appreciate how precious you time is but anything you can do to lend a hand is greatly appreciated and as a small thank you everyone who helps will receive a sachet of Fenwicks FS1 bike cleaner and a sample bottle of Squirt lube and provided you are a member your name will be added to the prize draw for a Ragley blue Pig frame

Thanks to the trail fairies most of the material has been moved so that barrowing will be mainly downhill (bound to be some uphill I'm afraid but will be easier than recent months). We will also need to dig a few new sections of trail bed and rock armour etc before surfacing.

It should be a really good day as we will see a new section of trail complete and another receive some urgently needed repair and to top it off Ian should be on site manning the SingletrAction EzUp in the car park and if the weather holds we will end the day with a BBQ and a play on the pump track.

BBQ I think it will be best if people bring a few bits.

When DL extension is linked up it will need a few test rides an think the guys that built it should have the honour. However when we pack up for the day I intend to cover it in logs again in the hope that it will settle before it gets a load of abuse.

I'm going to get my wheel barrow out from behind the shed where it's been neglected for too long and come along to this.

I really want to see this extension thing finished on the 1st of August.

Went up to the woods on Saturday looks like people have stayed off the new section of trail and the recent rain has helped bed it down nicely.

All looks good for being able to finish the extension and make a few repairs to the climb and a few other bits and bobs. So have a small list and plan of action prepared.

We have a few people bringing BBQ's so you may want to bring a few food and drink bits and bobs.

I noticed Ian posted somewhere the other day about bringing a BBQ and the Gazebo. What else do we need?

For any early birds Ill be on site at 9am at the bottom of the hill we have a few bits that need some fine surface near the bottom so plan on sorting this first. Then move the whole operation up the hill to connect up the trail etc.

I should stand out more than normal!

I'm gonna aim to get there for a little before 9am to get a quick ride in, I'm meeting up with a friend who's helping with the dig and hasn't been to Stainburn before.

Typical - the dig day of barrowing from the bottom of the hill in the rain I can make; the 'glory' dig day of finally linking it up with much of the material not too far away - I can't. :(

Hope the weathers okay for you all and I'll see you at the September one.

Cheers
Paul

Ooh, new t shirts!

P Stokes, your work this year will not be forgotten, damn shame you can't make it.

Steve, what time you plan on arriving? Drop me a text I might come along? Unkle, what time you thinking?
