Im at Stainburn on the 4th
Gisburn on the 11th

So 25th works better for me! lol

Hi Rory,

quite a bit of interest from the Dalby end. Would you be able to structure digdays around Singletraction's two 'biggys' at Stainburn (1st sunday) and Dalby (3rd sunday). Could then possibly turn up with tools aswell.

Ian.

Dunno - i read that as fairly positive. Looks like the locals want to keep it fairly natural looking/riding which is a good plan if you can pull it off - one Dalby in Yorkshire is probably enough :)

Agreed I think people are in general keen to see things move on in Guisborough but I was referring to the lack of posts since Rory asked to see who would attend a dig day.

i popped to guisboro today having not been on this site for months and months, and found the black route entirely rideable. it was only when i went to the loo in the visitors centre afterwards i saw a sign saying don't ride it. have the way markers been moved / altered in order to send people away from the sections they don't want people on? because every single section that the way markers pointed me in the direction of, i rode without so much as a hint of closure signs or hi-visibility tape?

a bt confused as to whether i was riding things i shouldn't be..... :?

Hi All,

The date for the first Dig Day will be August 1st. I have just posted this date on www.mtbguisborough.ning.com 's website and will post on other mtb websites. Hopefully we'll get a few bodies to help out. If anyone off here is willing to get stuck in and get Guisborough's trails updated, repaired and new routes laid down please let me know.

To be honest I'm a novice at official trail building and we could do with some experience. There are some good plans for Guisborough and this is only the start.

Thanks

Nice work glad you managed to get a date sorted to get the ball rolling.

Unfortunately that clashes with the Trailbuilding day at Stainburn so I won't be able to come along and help out or bring any tools. Fingers crossed some of he Dalby crew may be able to help out.

:D Great to see the dig day happening at guisborough.

Q. To get involved it says you have to be a member of single traction, does that mean a member of this forum? or is there some other membership needed?

The reason I ask is that I am willing and able to dig, but Im not sure if I have the correct membership, also my 10 year old son would like to wield a spade too, but will he be allowed?

I thought I'd ask here at the horses mouth before I commit on the mtbg site...

Membership is with Singletraction and not the forum and its to ensure you are covered by FE insurance when working on trails etc. Plus the money raised (for the most part) goes back into providing tools and materials for the trails. Also get you a bunch of discounts etc.

Details can be found on the main website www.singetraction.org.uk n.b. the website is being updated but most info is available etc

As for kids digging they have and do from time to time but would ask that you supervise them at all times.

Post from Guisborough site re dig day - http://mtbguisborough.ning.com/xn/detai ... e=activity

For those of you who haven't been on the Guisborough forum Rory has been getting a lot of support and it was looking like he would have a good turn out.

Unfortunately the planned dig on 1st August has had to be postponed as Stuart the FE ranger is now on holiday!

The only positive is that Tim has extended our invite for them to come to Stainburn and do a meet and great and also means we have chance to go over with a few experienced builders when they get the dig sorted.
